The Renaissance Learning Program, formally known as Accelerated Reading, (AR), is a computer software program that helps teachers manage and monitor students reading growth. A student picks a book at his/her level and reads it at his/her pace. When finished, the student takes a short quiz on the computer. Renaissance Learning gives both student and teacher feedback based on the quiz results, that the teacher then uses to direct ongoing reading practice.

At Frank Macias Elementary we  incorporating the Renaissance Learning Program school wide, from Pre-K through third grade. We also have the Star Reading Program. This program is a part of the Accelerated Reading Program and gives the teachers a quick assessment of their students reading levels.
