Dear Clint Community,
The 2011-2012 school year has gone by swiftly. It was a year filled with great success and remarkable progress. For three consecutive years now, the District has been rated “Recognized” by the Texas Education Agency and all schools are rated “Acceptable” or higher. The New Clint High School and Clint Early College Academy are set to open for the 2012-2013 school year through the hard work of our Administration and support of the Board and community. Our finances are healthy and stable having maintained a “Superior” rating on the Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas report and being named to the Comptroller of Public Accounts Gold Level Leadership Circle for financial transparency. A record number of students received meals through our restructured Child Nutrition Program, offering more appealing food choices and a higher level of nutrition district-wide. Moreover, we have managed to weather the State budget cuts without employee layoffs or major cutbacks to instructional programs. By streamlining processes and providing additional resources we have been able to continue to save while offering students more opportunities.
Most of all, we are extremely proud of the accomplishments our students have achieved this year academically and athletically. More students and teams than ever before have advanced to competitions beyond District to represent Clint ISD. They have fared extremely well and have been great ambassadors for our district. I encourage you to check our website, www.clintweb.net, to read about the many accomplishments of our students.
The challenge of the new more rigorous state assessment, STAAR, was implemented this year and we took the challenge head on. As we await final results, we know that our students worked hard all year to reach their potential. We will continue to provide our students with opportunities for success, as we prepare for summer programs and the coming school year.
As a school community your efforts have contributed to these successes and in moving the District forward. Thank you for making an investment in the future of our students and in the success of our schools.
Have a wonderful summer.
